Navi Mumbai, the next IT destination in the making

Wipro has joined hands with City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra Ltd. (CIDCO) to transform Navi Mumbai into a IT destination. As part of the deal, Wipro will implement all the modules of SAP along with SAP’s real estate module. This implementation of the real-estate module of SAP is the first of its kind for a government agency.



Wipro will also implement a GIS, which will help both, CIDCO and its customers view data on-line, while it is working on its housing projects. As a part of the project, Wipro will also be implementing the customer management, data warehousing and HR modules of SAP for CIDCO.



At the bourses today, the shares of Wipro closed in red. At the BSE, the scrip ended at Rs 1,708.55, down 1.09 per cent from its previous close of Rs 1,727.3 and at the NSE, the shares closed at Rs 1,702, down 1.51 per cent from its previous close of Rs 1,728.10. At the Wall Street, on Monday, the Wipro ADR closed 1.34 per cent higher at $36.25.
