BANGALORE: In a videoconference with Nasscom president Dewang Mehta of Delhi
at the unveiling of the Millennium IT Policy of the Karnataka state by the
Karnataka chief minister S.M. Krishna, Mr Mehta announced that Nasscom would
soon set up an office in Bangalore. Nasscom would also shortly set up offices in
other places across the world like San Francisco, Tokyo and London and have
global presence.
Mr Mehta also said that his aim was to make Karnataka the Silicon Valley
state of the world and added, that he had seven objectives on this decision -
working with overseas venture capitalists, working closely with the Karnataka
government on e-governance, to set up a Nasscom entrepreneurs club, improve the
primary and secondary education, resource development, anti piracy drive and
social equality.
