BANGALORE: Nasscom, president Kiran Karnik announced in Bangalore that
Nasscom would host the Indian IT and ITES Strategy Summit 2002 at Hyderabad. The
two-day summit will begin on June 11, 2002. The summit would aim to provide a
platform to address the key issues and challenges confronting the Indian IT
software and services industry.
He informed that the two-day summit would be jointly inaugurated by Pramod
Mahajan, minister for communications, Information Technology and Parliamentary
Affairs and Chandra Babu Naidu, Andhra Pradesh chief minister in Hyderabad on
June 10, 2002. Nasscom will also release its Nasscom -Mckinsey Report 2002 at
the event, which will present key imperatives for the industry, government and
Nasscom to achieve sustainable growth in the Indian IT and Software Service and
ITES sectors.
Karnik while making the announcement said, "The events over the last one
year have posed a considerable challenge for the Indian IT Industry and the
Indian IT and the ITES Summit would thus focus on identifying opportunity areas
across verticals, geographies and new technology areas and would recommend a
roadmap for the Indian IT and ITES companies to realize their long term
vision."
Nasscom, chairman Arun Kumar, informed that the two day summit besides focussing
on identifying opportunities across various domains in the ITES sector would
also be addressing some critical issues being faced by the industry such as
human resource planning, infrastructure management and market access.
