Disclosing this to CyberMedia News, Francis Gomes, director for South Asia at ETS India, the company, which conducts the tests for Nasscom said that the pilots would be conducted in five states by end of this year.

“We will be conducting the pilot NAC tests in five more states, namely Rajasthan, Gujarat, Chandigarh, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal. In each of the state 30, 000 to 50, 000 youth will take the tests to assess their abilities to be employed by the BPO/ KPO industry,” he informed.

Interestingly, the NAC tests will be conducted the manual way, and not online or on computer-based modules. “We have stuck to the pen and pencil module as the test will be fair, valid and reliable. It will be a difficult test, which will assess the competency of the examinee. However, we are yet to finalise on the score concept,” he said.

“The assessments will show the youth where they stand, and their credentials for being employed in the BPO/KPO industry,” Gomes added.

ETS India will also launch its English language learning products for Indian Universities. The company plans to tie-up with universities and colleges across India to launch the products as part of the curriculum. ETS also plans to launch ‘train-the-trainers’ program for the teaching community in universities, who will in turn use the company’s products to impart quality language training to the students.
