“Besides assisting the police in cyber forensics and investigation, the laboratory will serve as a permanent training center,” NASSCOM Director (Cyber Security) Pratap Reddy told The Hindu on Thursday.

As part of the initiative, police personnel, other department officials and employees of corporate companies would be trained to enhance the overall cyber security environment, the newspaper reported.

The announcement was made at a seminar on ‘Cyber Safe Tamil Nadu 2009,’ organized by the Tamil Nadu Police, DSCI and NASSCOM. Delegates from various police organizations, IT companies, educational institutions and banks are participating in the five-day program.
