NASSCOM extends Som Mittal's term till 2014

BANGALORE, INDIA: The Executive Council of the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) decided to extend the tenure of its president Som Mittal by two years, at a meeting in Chennai on Monday.

It means that Mittal, who became the persident in January 2008 and was to continue till this December, will enjoy the position till early 2014.

"Som Mittal is doing an outstanding job leading NASSCOM as the president. The Executive Council of NASSCOM has unanimously agreed to extend his term till early 2014, to which Som has kindly agreed," the council said in a statement.

NASSCOM has given a guidance of 11-14 per cent growth for the $100 billion Indian IT industry for this year, in stark contrast to last year's 17 per cent, amid uncertainty in U.S.  and Europe.
