This year's event will provide an overview of the IT-BPO sector and its transformation over the past few years. As of now, the industry is cruising along smoothly logging revenues of $8.3 billion in 2006-`07 and growing at around 32 per cent.

Signs of the industry's move towards maturity can be gauged from the topics of discussion this year. While previous years tackled the initial teething problems like attrition and pricing, this year's agenda includes areas like expansion in the scope of services provided by Indian IT-BPO companies; migration by service providers towards increasingly complex, high value processes, involving rule-based decision-making; emergence of "high-end" Knowledge-based processes such as financial services research support and analysis, econometrics, data analytics and modeling, business/corporate research/competitive intelligence, legal services, animation and game development services.

Sessions will also focus on insights from customers on global sourcing, innovation in BPO; performance management and use of technology in BPO.

One of the much-awaited highlights at this year's event is the presentation of the Nasscom ITES-BPO landscape study. The event could also look back at the progress of some of Nasscom's initiatives undertaken last year such as the cset up to check BPO employee credentials.

Some of the participants at the summit this year include Samatha Covel, VP, center of excellence for global sourcing, BT; Benjamin Pring, VP Research, Gartner Research; Pramod Bhasin, president and CEO, Genpact; Raman Roy, founder, chairman and MD, Quattro and S Gopalakrishnan, CEO and MD, Infosys. Regulars at the annual event will sorely miss the presence of the late Sunil Mehta, former VP, Nasscom who worked tirelessly in the past few years on issues concerning the industry such as data security, employee competence and standards.
