Narayana Murthy to be comic book hero

BANGALORE, INDIA:N R Narayana Murthy, the chief mentor of Infosys Technologies, who launched an economic revolution in the country way back in 1980s, is all set to adore a new role - a really heroic one at that.

The life of Murthy, who has been identified as one of the most-admired global leaders by magazines like 'The Economist' and 'Time', is soon going to be the content of a new comic that popular comic book series Amar Chitra Katha is planning to bring out.

This is for the first time that Amar Chitra Katha is profiling a living person in its comic book. This will be followed by stories of famous personalities like cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and former Indian President and Bharat Ratna award winner, APJ Abdul Kalam, said a report.

Murthy confirmed that ACK Media, the publishers of Amar Chitra Katha has sought his permission to bring out the comic.

"I am very grateful to the publishers for this opportunity to be of some value to the youth of the country," Murthy told CyberMedia.

“Amar Chitra Katha has brought so much of joy to children and parents alike by bringing alive the epics and the biographies of heroes and legends of India to every drawing room. This is one investment that my wife and I did not grudge making for our children,” he said.

Murthy, who obtained B. E. (Electrical) from the University of Mysore in 1967 and M. Tech. (Electrical) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 1969, founded Infosys Technologies in 1981 along with six of his friends, after all of them pooled in $250 each.

Soon Infosys grew into a mammoth organization creating job opportunities for over 100,000 people.

Nararana Murthy is also the recipient of numeral awards including the coveted Padma Vibhushan.
