Muralikrishnan is eBay India Country Manager

BANGALORE, INDIA: e-Commerce firm eBay India announced on Tuesday the appointment of Muralikrishnan B as country manager, with immediate effect.

He takes over from Ambareesh Murty, who had been the country manager of eBay India since March 2008. Murty now plans to follow entrepreneurial studies on Internet-related opportunities in India, said a press release.

Earlier Murali was working as senior director, marketing and product management at eBay India. With this promotion, he will be responsible for the eBay portfolio in India, Philippines and Malaysia, said eBay.

“Indian e-Commerce is rapidly evolving and eBay is uniquely positioned to continue to lead this growth. I am happy to take on my new role and look forward to further strengthening our leadership position,” said Muralikrishnan.

Murali is a Mechanical Engineer from Osmania University, Hyderabad and an alumnus of IIM Calcutta. He joined eBay in 2005. 

Prior to eBay he also worked with Cadbury Schweppes, ICICI Prudential, Asian Paints and Sify.

Murali said the future of e-commerce is bright and eBay will be on the forefront of it.
