Murali to head Virtusa HR

HYDERABAD: Virtusa Corporation today announced that it has appointed Murali Venugopalan as director-Human Resources.

He will play the role of HR partner for one of the two Asia Business units and also double up as the India HR leader. By virtue of his being located at Chennai, he will oversee all HR activities at the Chennai advanced technology centre.

With over 19 years of experience, Murali brings with him experience from a wide cross-section of industries. He has worked for companies such as Hindustan Zinc Ltd, Brakes India (TVS Group), TI Diamond Chains Ltd (Murugappa Group), Hindustan Motors (CK Birla Group), Polaris, and HCL.

Speaking on the appointment, T N Hari, vice president and global head of HR for Virtusa, said, "We are witnessing increased momentum in all sectors of our business. Murali's experience will enable us to ramp our operations aggressively."

Murali has a Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel and Industrial Relations from the Madras School of Social work. He also holds a Diploma in Training and Development and Certification in Business Process Re-Engineering from the Japanese Management Association.
