MTS builds new data centre for cloud in Noida

publive-imageGURGAON, INDIA: MTS, the mobile telephony services brand of Sistema Shyam TeleServices Ltd (SSTL), on Monday announced the launch of an eco-friendly data centre in Noida, NCR.

Built by IBM, this is the company's third data centre in the country after similar set-ups in Chennai and Jaipur, the company said in a press release.

The data centre has intelligent BMS (building management system) for round the clock monitoring and surveillance in order to have effective energy utilization and security.

Rajeev Batra, CIO, MTS India, said: “This latest set-up would provide impetus to the MTS data focused strategy and is in line with our plans to foray into cloud computing services segment. What makes this latest data centre all the more special is its extremely low carbon foot-print.”

The new data centre facilities have spread over an area of approx. 22000 sq ft and will add to the reliability and resilience of the MTS Services and Applications for customers. The applications in the centre will be in shared and fall-back mode between Chennai and Noida for enhanced customer experience.

The company says that it can scaled up to twice its existing capacity.
