MS offers Hindi language interface for Win XP

Microsoft Corporation India Pvt Ltd has announced the availability of a Hindi language interface for the Windows XP operating system.

The Hindi Language Interface Pack (LIP) can be downloaded at no additional cost from www.microsoft.com/windowsupdate or from www.bhashaindia.com.

Internationally, Microsoft has launched a Local Language Program, under which it will make free LIPs available for other languages worldwide. India is one of the first countries to launch a local language LIP for Windows.

Commenting on the launch of the product, Microsoft Indian MD, Rajiv Kaul said, "Windows and Office in Hindi will together improve accessibility of IT for a broader section of society, helping bridge the digital divide.

The offering particularly addresses the needs of the central and the state government, public sector undertakings, the banking industry, educational institutes and the local developer community".
