MS launches Windows Server System promotion

NEW DELHI: Microsoft Corp today launched a new promotion for mid-sized companies with 50-250 PCs, which includes Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition, Exchange Server 2003 Standard Edition and Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) 2005 Workgroup Edition.

The Microsoft Windows Server System promotion for mid-sized companies is an easy-to-deploy solution that provides midsize business IT professionals with simplified infrastructure management, reduced costs and complexity, and improved security.

The offering also includes 50 Client Access Licenses (CALs) for Windows Server 2003 and Exchange Server 2003. The promotion, offered at approximately 20 percent off Microsoft Open License program prices, has been made available to customers from August, Microsoft said in a press release.

Microsoft also announced that it is providing new tools, guidance and best practices for midsize businesses on how to plan and deploy a secure and well managed infrastructure. Tools in the offering include the Microsoft Security Assessment Tool, Microsoft TCO Assessment Tool and the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA) 2.0.

Commenting on the launch of the Microsoft Windows Server System Midsize Business Promotion, Vaibhav Phadnis, director — Server Business Group, Microsoft India said, “Microsoft understands the unique technology needs of customers in the midsize business segment. The Windows Server System promotion gives midsize businesses the confidence that their systems are stable and finally allows them to view IT as a strategic investment.”
