MS launches SQL Server 2000 Workgroup Edition

NEW DELHI: Microsoft Corporation India Pvt Ltd has announced plans to launch SQL Server 2000 Workgroup Edition, a database solution customized for small and medium sized organizations. According to Microsoft, SQL Server 2000 Workgroup Edition is the ideal choice for customers who want rich database features in an easy-to-manage solution.





Workgroup Edition supports up to two processors, unlimited database size and two gigabytes of memory - making it an extremely competitively priced full-size database solution. The product will be made available to customers from April 2005 through Microsoft's channel partners.





SQL Server 2000 Workgroup Edition is a data management solution for small and medium organizations or workgroups within larger entities. It includes all of the core database features needed for data management in an easy-to-use, affordable and simple to manage package.





All the management features within SQL Server 2000 are included in Workgroup Edition. The key features of Workgroup Edition that allow for easy management and organization of data include Enterprise Manager, Full-Text Search, Import / Export, Replication (snapshot, transactional, and merge) and stored procedure development and debugging tools.
