MS avails Win Mobile 6.5 Developer Toolkit

BANGALORE, INDIA: IT major Microsoft Corp, on Thursday announced that the Windows Mobile 6.5 Developer Toolkit has been released.

A blog in the Microsoft website said, “Now you can start developing and testing for this version with the new Windows Mobile 6.5 Developer Toolkit.”

The new tool-kit includes feature like emulator images for SKU such as Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional Square Emulator,  QVGA Emulator, WQVGA Emulator.

It also includes Emulator images available for locales such as Chinese, USA English, German, French,

Italian, Spanish.

A new set of APIs is being introduced that will enable application developers to take advantage of the new Windows Mobile 6.5 touch gesture framework, which are only available on the Windows Mobile Classic and Professional SKUs, said the website.

The new API would allow application to handle touch gesture input and provide a visually consistent experience with the rest of the device UI.

To use the Windows Mobile 6.5 Toolkit one would also need to install the Windows Mobile 6 SDK.
