BANGALORE, INDIA: Microsoft would be soon bringing new pricing options for its SQL Azure platform, along with size up-gradation of the database.
Talking on the size up-gradation, a blog posted by Eric Nelson at the MSDN site said, “I know from our work with early adopters over the last 12 months that the 1GB and 10GB limits were sometimes seen as blockers, especially when migrating existing application to SQL Azure.”
According to a blog, On June 28th 2010, Microsoft would be increasing the size limits of SQL Azure Web Edition database from 1 GB to 5 GB and SQL Azure Business Edition database will go from 10 GB to 50 GB.
The size change would also bring changes in the pricing. The Web Edition would start at $9.99 / month for up to 1 GB relational database and cost $ 49.95 per month for 5 GB relational database.
The Business Edition would be priced at $99.99 per month for 10 GB and would cost $499.95 per month for 50 GB relational database. For additional details on pricing, visit here.
