Mphasis fraud case — suspect nos. 13 & 14

PUNE: The Pune police has arrested yet another employee of the BPO division of MphasiS in connection with the $350,000 cyber crime. The employee has been identified as Maurelene Dilioris Fernandes. The crime branch also picked up another person Narayan Ramnath Singh Yadav for helping the 12-member gang in fraudulently withdrawing money from the Citibank accounts of customers in USA.






With the arrest of these two, the total number of arrests in the case has come upto 14 — which includes three former employees and one current employee of Msource — the BPO division of Mphasis.





On April 6, the Police arrested 12 persons for allegedly siphoning off funds from the Citibank accounts of four US citizens. Assistant Commissioner of Police Sanjay Jadhav told the Judicial Magistrate ( First Class) that the Police is investigating the role of cyber cafes and are in the process of identifying those cafes, which were used by the accused in transferring the money.





The accused have been sent to Police custody till April 15.
