Motorola offers to replace Moto G handsets affected with unregistered IMEI no. issue

BANGALORE, INDIA: Motorola has started the process of recalling a few batches of the recently shipped Moto G sets to India, due to IMEI number verification problems. They have started the process of recall through Flipkart, the only official seller of Moto G handsets in India. The e-etailer has already sent a mail to the respective buyers offering replacement or refund options.

Some Moto G users in India have reported that they have been facing network issue problems. The handset maker has investigated the problem and decided to recall the affected handsets. However, the problems does not exist in all the Moto G handsets sold in India via Flipkart. It is only with those Moto G handsets that contain the IMEI number beginning with 3533, clarified Motorola.

Motorola has already issued an official statement on " target="_blank">Facebook for its fan followers- "We've uncovered an activation problem with some MotoG devices sold in India as they have been shipped with IMEI numbers that are not yet registered with carriers. If you have recently purchased a Moto G and have network connectivity problems this may apply to you. This is due to a programming error from our end and we owe you a big apology!"

"We are working around the clock to resolve this. If you are impacted, we've sent you an email via Flipkart to explain everything and what we're doing to make it right," said Motorola further.

Flipkart is also offering a Rs. 1,200.00($20.00) cashback who all those who made the purchase using credit cards.
