Motorola turns mobile phone to music player

BANGALORE,INDIA: Motorola, Inc, a provider in mobility services, announced on Saturday the expansion of its ROKR portfolio with the introduction of the new music-optimized MOTOROKR EM30, a candy bar phone using Motorola’s ModeShift technology.

It is a perfect blend of a mobile phone and a music player with an innovative ModeShift technology that illuminates the keyboard, taking users from talk to text1 to complete music immersion with the touch of a button, said a press release.

It features 27 MB on-board memory that is expandable with optional microSD card up to 8 GB. It features advanced audio equalizers with 3D stereo sound that allow consumers to listen to music just the way they want, it said.

The MOTOROKR comes with a2MP camera with 8X zoom that snaps high-quality pictures and video, said the release.

“We offer an exciting new mobile music experience with the ROKR EM30,” said Lloyd Mathias, senior director and head of sales and distribution, India and South West Asia, Motorola Mobile Devices.

“Consumers can listen to and discover music that is easily accessible and affordable. They can enjoy FM, share surround-sound quality audio whenever, wherever and however they want to hear it. Rock to the music with the sleek and exciting new ROKR EM30,” he added.
