Motorola launches MOTOMING A1600

BANGALORE, INDIA: Motorola Inc., a provider in mobile communications, today launched the next-generation, GPS-enabled, sleek, touch screen mobile phone, the MOTOMING A1600 in India.

MING A1600 provides consumers with lifetime free access to fully navigable maps1 and landmarks of 30 major cities in India, allowing voice-guided navigation across major national and state highways, said a press release.

It features an inbuilt GPS navigation and a full package of productivity, mobile music and multimedia functions, it said.

“MOTOMING A1600, our first GPS-enabled mobile phone in India, is powered with next-generation features and applications in an extremely attractive design,” said Lloyd Mathias, senior director and head of sales and distribution, India and South West Asia, Motorola Mobile Devices.

“Our GPS navigation service is free with no activation charges, independent of mobile networks and can be used even without inserting the SIM card. MOTOMING A1600 allows the Indian consumer access to 540,000 unique destinations and 400,000 points of interest, lifetime free voice- guided, turn-by-turn navigation across 30 major cities and national and state highways, ” he added.

The device comes with a 1GB MicroSD card and an expandable memory capacity of up to 4GB offering enough space to save important documents for work and fun, the release said.

It features 3.2-megapixel camera that makes it easy to snap, save and share pictures. The 8X zoom allows multiple capture modes, helping the consumer record all the action.

The new MING A1600 empowers the consumer to work and socialize while on the go with mobile business and multimedia applications, including mobile e-mail, business card reader3, document viewer and Motorola’s industry-leading smart handwriting technology, said the release.
