selection of Linux-based platforms, open source software, service and
support, training and integration services. In support of this initiative,
MCG is collaborating with Lineo, Inc., an embedded Linux software company
and Caldera Systems, which offers a full range of "Linux for
Business" products, services and Linux educational courses.

Elaborating on the company's Linux strategy, MCG Sales Manager
Venkatesh Kumaran said, "The performance and flexibility of Linux
combined with its open source environment will help speed time to market
and help reduce development costs for MCG's OEM customers. With Lineo and
Caldera Systems,

we plan to take the lead in expanding the reach of Linux into embedded
and high availability markets that require rugged, reliable and scalable
products. As a company focused on open architecture, we also support
real-time, Windows and UNIX software environments. We are currently
looking for distributors and partners for our new launches in the
subcontinent."

In line with the new strategy, MCG introduced a new family of
Linux-based platforms, the emS-ATXI and the SLX Series. emS-ATXI, in MCG's
new emS Series of Intel x86 embedded server platforms integrating the
Linux open operating system, to power a variety of telecommunications,
Internet, imaging and industrial automation. The SLX Series, the first in
a new family of Linux-based embedded platforms for Internet networking
applications such as web access, web security, web caching, and virtual
private networks (VPNs).

The emS-ATXI, an embedded platform integrating the Linux O/S would help
MCG's telecommunications, Internet and industrial automation customers to
meet requirements of flexibility, affordability and expandability. The SLX
series, however, is targeted at telecom OEMs building networking solutions

for the growing number of Internet service providers (ISP's),
government and business organizations, workgroups and telecommuters
requiring cost-effective access to the Internet.

The emS-ATXI comes in a 19-inch industrial-strength chassis with a
400-watt power supply, providing a platform to meet the demanding needs of
OEM customers. With either a 450 or 500 MHz Pentium III processor, the
emS-ATXI is one of the fastest systems available today and can provide a
head start on packaging solutions thereby reducing total product cost and
improving time to market.

The SLX Series of products is in a rugged, 2U-sized, rack-mount chassis
which includes a motherboard based on Intel's architecture, integrated
10/100base-T Ethernet interface, two I/O slots, floppy, CD-ROM drive and a
6.8GB IDE disk. The Model SLX-2010 includes a 333 MHz Intel Celeron
microprocessor with 128 KB of cache memory, and the Model SLX-2020
provides a 450MHz Pentium III with 512KB of cache memory.
