Motorola announces two WiMAX CPE solutions

AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS: The networks business of Motorola Inc. added two new devices to its WiMAX devices and customer premises equipment (CPE) portfolio, CPEi 800 and CPEi 885.

CPEi 800, offered in all bands, is a compact, data-only wireless modem, whereas, CPEi 885 is Motorola's fully-integrated CPE that supports WiMAX and WiFi b/g/n.

The CPEi 885, initially offered in 3.5GHz band, is a multiple port data, voice over IP (VoIP) and WiFi (b/g/n and 2x2n) device that incorporates a 2.4GHz WiFi 2x2n router.

This model also supports WiFi protected setup (WPS). It features one data and two ATA ports, making it possible for subscribers to enjoy an integrated 4G service experience.

CPEi 800 will be launched in August 2010, whereas, CPEi 885 is scheduled for Q4 2010.
