CHENNAI, INDIA: American Megatrends India Pvt Ltd, a fully owned subsidiary of US-based computer solutions firm American Megatrends Inc, has launched Falcon-i, a GSM tracking system, that can be used to track a vehicle round the clock.
According to Jayaram Krishnan, director and CEO of the company, it can be fixed to taxis and goods carriers as well.
Once the system has been installed, the monitoring station records details about a vehicle's location, its ground speed, date, time, fuel, and vehicle health parameters like engine, fuel temperature and battery voltage, etc.
Falcon-i's geo-fencing facility enables immobilisation of the vehicle if it tries to take a different route or go beyond a prescribed distance.
The company also has plans to tap the Middle Eastern and African markets for its product, besides India.
