Model N to increase offshoring

HYDERABAD: When revenue management software provider Model N Inc. starts working on the next release of its pharmaceutical business user product, it would also spread the role played by Sierra Atlantic, which provides outsourced product development service to the former.

For the first time, Model N would let the 40-member team working on its product in Hyderabad to develop new features. The work on the next release is slated to kick-off after a month and half.

“We are working with Sierra on the 5.2 version. This is first major release where we have let Sierra employees to test on their own. And in the next major release we would be allowing the Sierra developers to develop substantial new features,’’ said Yarden Malka, vice-president (product development), Model N Inc.

Malka hinted that in the future Model N would more work would be commissioned offshore.

“We basically chose the more matured application to be done in Hyderabad. Over the time we are sure we are going to do new application here,’’ said Malka.

Model N is a Redhood Shore, US-based company specializing in revenue management software.
