CAIRO, EGYPT: France Telecom said on Wednesday that a deal to end a row with Orascom Telecom over ownership of Mobinil would mean a deal to sell an Orascom's Internet service provider LINKdotNET to the Egyptian mobile unit would go ahead.

"The acquisition of LinkDotNet is a very important part, from a business standpoint, of this agreement. It really creates new possibilities for the services we will offer to our customer," France Telecom deputy chief executive officer Jean-Yves Larrouturou said in Cairo.

Mobinil, which has been at the centre of a long-running dispute between the French firm and Orascom, had earlier said resolving the row would enable the LINKdotNET deal to be completed.
