Mobile sourcing fair to open in Delhi on Wednesday

NEW DELHI, INDIA: The two-day mobile handset sourcing fair being organized by Communication and Manufacturers Association of India, which will have participants mainly from China, Korea and Taiwan, will be jointly inaugurated on Wednesday by Ajay Maken, Minister of State for Home Affairs, and K Rahman Khan, Deputy Chairman, Rajya Sabha.

“We have so far received confirmation from 50 international original equipment manufactures. Most of these are from China. ITU Geneva is also participating. This fair is supported by all the major IT and telecom associations. Our effort has been honooured by the Minister of State for Home Affairs and also the Deputy Chairman, Rajya Sabha. They both have agreed to inaugurate this fair,” said NK Goyal, President, CMAI.

The fair has been supported by Federation of Indian Export Organization, TEPC, NSIC, PHD Cambers along with business organizations of participating countries. Goyal claimed that it is the first of its kind mobile handset sourcing fair.

“The mobile handset business is booming in India. There is demand for new technology in mobile handset segment. Through this fair we will try to introduce new technology and players to the Indian market. It will be an opportunity for entrepreneurs to develop business relations with participants of these fair,” said Goyal.

Goyal added that most of the players in this fair will be looking at building partnerships in India, technology transfers, joint venture for manufacturing, VAS applications and some of them have expressed to set-up their distribution network in the country.

This two day fair starting from December 15 will be organized in Karolbagh area of the national capital.
