SANTIAGO, CHILE: Entel, one of Chile's leading mobile phone operators, sees mobile broadband as the next main engine of its growth, Corporate Finance Manager Felipe Ureta said on Wednesday.
Ureta told the Reuters Latin American Investment Summit in Santiago that Entel expected a tight second quarter for Chile's telecoms industry amid a sharp economic slowdown due to the global financial crisis.
Entel, which said last week it plans to invest between $450 million and $500 million this year, will finance its investment with its own resources and does not plan to issue bonds this year.
