While the laws about using speakerphones and handsfree kits are still ambiguous, it's what you have to resort to, to avoid being caught. The easiest (and invisible) way to use a phone in the car is a Bluetooth speaker. This one, from Taiwanese manufacturer 'Just Mobile,' plugs into the car's cigarette lighter socket. Controls are simple: one button each for answering and ending call, two buttons for volume control, a switch for auto answer, and an LED operation light. The auto answer feature is handy if you don't want to take your hands off the wheel or look down at the device. Just slide the switch on the device from 'M' to 'A', and it'll answer all calls. The built-in microphone can be angled to face you. Overall call quality and volume was very good, but you'll have to mute the stereo yourself. Plus there are privacy issues, because anyone else sitting in the car will be in on the whole conversation. Overall, a useful device if you just have to take that call, come what may.
