The company achieved this milestone after rigorous independent appraisal by TÃœV Rheinland (India) Pvt. Ltd.

Developed by the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA, the “Capability Maturity Model Integration” or CMMI is a standard that results in better project performance and higher quality product. CMMi processes explicitly link the management and engineering activities to business objectives by incorporating lessons learned from additional areas of best practice to ensure that the product meets the customer expectations.

The CMMi model adopted by Mistral includes systems engineering, software engineering and Integrated Product and Process Development. “Mistral's forte has always been its expertise as a single source for both hardware and software engineering in the embedded domain. The qualification strengthens our ability to provide high-quality services for embedded product design and development that consistently meet customer needs and enhance customer satisfaction.” said Anees Ahmed, president & CEO of Mistral Software.

“This is an extremely important milestone for our company. Having development processes that meet these requirements is paramount for reliable and efficient system engineering. We have consistently focused on building a system of continual improvement of processes beginning with our certification for ISO 9001:2000 in 2002. The successful appraisal to CMMi Level 3 is a step forward towards achieving CMMi Level 5 certification in 2007, the process for which is already underway.“ said Narayanan Bhattathiripad, vice president, Mistral.
