Minor fire at IBM, Manyata tech park; staff safe

BANGALORE, INDIA: About 1,500 employees of IBM had a tough time Monday afternoon, after a minor fire reportedly broke out on their campus at Manyata Embassy Business Park in Bangalore.

Early reports of a major fire at Manyata started pouring in sometime after noon, only to be doused by sources confirming that it was not to such an extent and all were safe.

"Initially, it was thought to be a major fire break-out, but was soon found to be a minor one. We all were evacuated safely in time," said an IBM source.

In no time, some tech-savvy employees of several companies took to Twitter and started giving out updates. An early bird, Tanuja Krishna Kumar (@tanujak), tweeted, "Unconfirmed reports about a fire at Manyata Tech Park! Be safe everyone!"

"Minor fire incident at Manyata Tech Park, D2 block. #Bangalore," stated Vadakkus (@vadakkus) in an attempt to throw more light on the developments.

Further utilizing the power of the microblogging service was one Suyash Kumar, who posted a picture from his handle @suyashkmr. "Fire @IBM, Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore (Close-up)." (sic) It had a link that leads to a page: https://twitter.com/suyashkmr/status/209568064730173440/photo/1.
