MindTree to open centre in Mexico

BANGALORE, INDIA: MindTree Ltd, an IT and R&D services company, said it intends to open a new development centre in Monterrey, Mexico later this year to strengthen its near-shore operations in the US and Latin America.

The facility is scheduled to open on November 1 and would provide services including application development and support, product development and support and testing, MindTree said in a statement.

The facility would employ about 250 people, with room for further additions depending on the needs of the clients, the company said.

A designer and manufacturer of analog and digital technologies has signed to be the first client to be serviced from the new location, MindTree said.

As interest in near-shoring grows in North America, the new facility will offer customers the benefits of proximity and cultural similarities.
