Minda Corp chips away 70 pc TCO with Dell NetVault

BANGALORE, INDIA: Dell announced that is has successfully deployed it's NetVault Backup License for Datacenter for Minda Corporation Limited, a Pune based company that manufactures products for Auto OEM's across the globe.

With the deployment of the solutions, the company was able to reduce the total cost of ownership by 70 per cent within a span of nine months.

Due to the increasing amount of critical data being generated by the organisation, Minda Corporation wanted to build a robust Back-up, Recovery and archiving system which would be user friendly and easy to deploy. The organisation which already had a complete SAP landscape running on AIX with backend database DB2 and Windows Operating system, evaluated both IBM and Dell for their backup requirements. They chose Dell NetVault Backup license for Datacenter for its Backup and Recovery solutions as it scored a higher rating in comparison with other competitors.

Minda adds it achieved a number of benefits from the deployment of the Dell product. The solutions were quick and easy to install and use. Additionally end users were benefited by eliminating multiple, disparate processes. The company also found that the IT training and expertise requirements were also reduced considerably within a short span of time, as there was just one solution and interface for all types of back-up. These benefits further helped the company reduce the time spent on back-up tasks to just 15 minutes a day and the overall Total Cost of Ownership by 70 per cent, it says.
