Millthree Solutions Pvt. Ltd., a training
company, has recently been opened in the city. To start with, the school
will offer courses covering Java, Corba, DHTML, ASP, Perl, SERVLETS, Java
Beans, Java Security as well as e-commerce. The training center spans an
area of 1,650 sqft, with 12 terminals available for students to work on
live projects. Each batch will comprise six students.
Around Rs 15 lakh has been invested in the venture. The e-commerce
course also includes communication skills, personality development and
leadership requirements, for which no additional fee is charged. Millthree
Solutions Director and promoter M. Rajarammohan said, "These
additional courses are essential for software professionals as many of
them lack basic communication skills, in spite of being competent in their
field."
The European method of analysis, called the `Merise' analysis, is
incorporated in the course as well. "A good project involves about
nine months of study and three months of programming. `Merise' analysis
basically involves a process of pre-study, functional procedures,
conceptual level planning, organizational level planning, etc. It is
basically for analysts and project managers to plan out their entire
project effectively," said Rajarammohan.
The company has a tie-up with Apogee Informatique, a France-based
software solutions firm. Rajarammohan, who is also Project Manager at
Apogee, France, said, "In a few months, we will be diversifying into
developing AS/400 applications in India. The investment, which will be to
the tune of around Rs 50 lakh, will be made by Apogee." The
development center for this will be coming up at the company's premises in
the next six months. "Such applications are imported by Indian
companies from South Korea mostly. We want to develop this product within
the country itself with the technical and financial collaboration with
Apogee," he added. Apogee is currently involved in developing such
applications abroad. One of the packages it has developed so far are, DISE-Dawson
Information System Europe, which is a business communication package.
"Before we diversify into AS/400 application development, we want
to study the potential markets and gauge the feasibility of starting a
center here," said the Director.
