Migrate to IPv6 by December 2012, says RBI to banks

BANGALORE, INDIA: The Reserve Bank asked banks to migrate to Internet Protocol version six (IPv6) from IPv4 by end of the year, reports PTI.

"RBI further added that government have expressed that the migration of all payment gateways, banks, financial institutions, insurance companies, etc. including their websites should be completed preferably by December 2012," adds the report.
