Microworld goes the retail way

MUMBAI: Microworld has announced its plans of having its products in all the major retail outlets across the country. In this regard, talks are already on with giants like Shoppers Stop, Globus and so on. The company is also planning to tie up with NIIT, Aptech, Citibank and ICICI bank to bundle anti-virus software with their products.



Vivek Gadgil, AGM, Marketing, Microworld said, " The concern among corporate and individuals for security is increasing day by day and there is huge potential in upcountry market."



The tie-up with education majors like NIIT and Aptech would enable students get hands on experience of the anti-virus software. The company has also plans to recruit students after proper training on the anti-virus software. The customer at the ATM is also a target for the company. The information about its products would be displayed on the ATM machines of Citibank and ICICI bank with which the company is soon going to tie up.



The company is also going to launch the new version of its existing anti-virus software ‘escan’ named ‘escan 2003’. The company has around 3,500 channel partners all across the country and has done major repositioning of its channel structure.



After this exercise, the company is looking at 200 percent growth till March 2004. It is expecting a revenue of Rs 10 crore by end of this March from India operations.
