Microsoft's RTC group gets a new head

BANGALORE: Microsoft India Development Center (MIDC) today announced the appointment of Nagesh Pabbisetty as general manager of the Real Time Collaboration group and the newly founded Engineering and Product Innovation Center.

Pabbisetty joins Microsoft from RealNetworks, where he was the Vice President, Consumer Products and Support.

With over seventeen years of experience in consumer and business software and services, Pabbisetty has led global businesses with distributed product development and customer service delivery teams at various locations across the world.

Microsoft's increasing focus in the integrated communications space has prompted MIDC to identify the RTC Group as one of the most critical areas of product development. Integrated Communications is a key component of the company's overall collaboration strategy to provide software and services that enable people to connect and work together more effectively.

Commenting on the appointment, Srini Koppolu, managing director, MIDC, said, "The intellectual property, products and services are crucial to the company's long term strategy and competitiveness."

Prior to RealNetworks, Pabbisetty worked at Prodigy Communications Corp and Xerox Corporation. He is also a Charter Member of the Seattle Chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs.

Pabbisetty has a BS degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the Manipal Institute of Technology and an MS in Computer Science and Applications from Virginia Tech. He is also an MBA from the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business at the University of Rochester, New York.
