Microsoft to preview Windows 7 at PDC

BANGALORE, INDIA: Software giant Microsoft has announced that the company is planning to launch their next version of operating system "Windows 7 Pre-Beta".

According the reports, Developers will have the chance to preview Windows 7 Alpha at the professional developers conference (PDC) in October. However, with the pre beta launch, the company wants to release the final version, scheduled in 2010.

"Windows 7 is the next major version of the Windows client operating system.  With Windows 7 at PDC 2008 you will see advances across the full range of Windows, including the kernel, networking, hardware and devices, and user-interface," wrote Denise Begley, a marketing manager for Microsoft, on the company blog.

He added, "Developers will have an opportunities to build on the platform’s commitment to OS fundamentals, while also enabling to enhance existing applications and create new applications that use the new technologies and APIs in Windows 7."

Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to attend 21 different sessions that drill down into the details of developing for Windows 7.

Developers in the industry are thrilled after Microsoft announced the much-anticipated Windows 7 operating system.
