Microsoft introduces Dynamics AX 2012 in India

NEW DELHI, INDIA: After almost a year of the global launch, software major Microsoft today unveiled Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 in India. Microsoft is focusing on public sector, retail, insurance and manufacturing. Microsoft also said that partner ecosystem is a key to their business and they work with a plethora of solution providers. The company said that their new offering is powerful, agile and facilitates enhanced user experience.

Microsoft Dynamics (Applications) business director Samik Roy said that they are ahead of their competitors in wooing public sector with their innovation-driven solution platforms and win open bids consistently. ''Our global customers have planned rollout in tandem with India launch,'' he said. Roy also informed that Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 facilities automatic analytics.

''The Microsoft Dynamics AX product community has grown to over 17,000 customers worldwide with an extensive partner ecosystem in more than 40 countries. This wave of innovation that we are delivering to the market demonstrates our core commitment to deliver real value to our customers through simple to use and easy to implement business solutions,'' he said.

Somick Goswami, Director- Consulting at PwC India said that a solution that takes care of future business needs, besides other functionalities is most sought by customers today. Business drift, he said, helps enterprises run a robust platform, since data is core in all businesses.

''From a business integration and business consulting perspective there are some key business requirements which a solution should address effectively. These include the ease with which it aligns itself to an enterprise's business needs, enables better decision making, improves efficiency and productivity and is receptive to business nuances,'' Goswami said.

The new solution, aimed at large enterprise, allows customization of applications. In addition, local tax laws and regulatory framework has been incorporated and its management is fully owned by the company itself. Microsoft said that unlike competitors, there would be no pop ups and the application is browser based that could increase productivity.
