Microsoft India launches Partner Academy

MUMBAI: Microsoft India recently launched its Partner Academy in the country, the first such initiative in the Asia Pacific.

Microsoft Partner Academy is specifically targeted at the company's partners in India and has been launched in three cities, Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai.

Speaking about the initiative, Sudev Muthya, director (Enterprise & Partner Group), Microsoft India said, “We intend to train close to 1000 individuals in a calendar year. Depending on the event's success, we will increase the scope in the years to come.”

Microsoft Partner Academy is a global program that aims to provide technical, marketing and other skills to partner community to enable them to deploy large solutions and market the products in a better way.

The program is targeted at enterprise partners of Microsoft like, Wipro, HCL, HP, SAP, etc. The program is completely funded by Microsoft.

“The next 12-18 months are very crucial for Microsoft, we will see big product launches in this time period. So we are preparing the market with the requisite skill sets to be able to scale up and make best of the opportunity,” said Muthya.

The company has already conducted sessions for approximately 50 people in Bangalore and Mumbai. The program has been fairly successful in the Middle East and is conducted by two companies, Vision to Result and Innobits in India.
