Microsoft India appoints new faces

NEW DELHI: Microsoft India Pvt. Ltd. has appointed Rajiv Kaul as Managing

Director for the firm's Indian subsidiary and has elevated Sanjay Mirchandani as

the firm’s Regional Director (South Asia Region).

Microsoft India president Rajiv Nair will take up additional responsibility

as Senior Strategic Advisor, (Asia). In his new role, Kaul will be responsible

for realizing Microsoft's .NET vision and spearheading the customer-partner

focus and MSN, the company's portal property. In addition, he will also handle

Microsoft's developer and education initiatives in India.

Sanjay Mirchandani will oversee the management of seven local subsidiaries

including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam and

India. He will also manage a regional team to chalk out strategic business

initiatives and will also be responsible for business development in the region.

Rajiv Nair, on the other hand, as Senior Strategic Advisor to Microsoft will

work on specific projects in cooperation with subsidiaries and also explore

regional cooperation. As part of his new responsibility, Nair will build

relations with local governments and the software industry in the Asian region.
