Microsoft Hardware completes 20 years

New Delhi: Microsoft Corporation India Pvt Ltd has announced the successful completion of twenty years of innovation by the Microsoft Hardware Group in the desktop space. The Microsoft Hardware Group has been instrumental in redefining desktop productivity with an innovative range of popular mouse products, ergonomically designed keyboards and award winning track balls.



Microsoft's Hardware Group, which was responsible for creating the company's first mouse compatible with Microsoft Word, comprises a multi - disciplinary staff of ergonomists, industrial designers, technologists, engineers and business leaders. Originally formed to supplement the company's software business, this 200 person group has evolved into a categorical leader, widely known for its leadership, entrepreneurial spirit and inventiveness.



Responding to customer desire for comfortable, easy to use and high performing products, the team has created and introduced a string of industry innovations that have redefined the hardware category, and in turn strengthened the user-computer connection. Some of the key innovations include the Microsoft IntelliMouse Scroll Wheel and the IntelliMouse TrackBall with a finger controlled scroll wheel. Additionally, Microsoft's Hardware division was also responsible for launching the world's first optical mouse products including the IntelliMouse Explorer, and the ambidextrous IntelliMouse Optical and Wheel Mouse Optical.
