The two computer giants Microsoft Corporation and Texas
based Electronic Data Systems (EDS), will announce an alliance focused on offering
comprehensive network services to business customers. A statement said that the deal would
allow businesses to benefit from EDS' comprehensive life cycle services to design, deploy,
manage and support Microsoft-based server desktop infrastructure solutions.
EDS is the world's second largest provider of computer
services and management which develops and runs large computer and telecommunications
systems for major government and corporate clients and frequently has partnered with
Washington-based Microsoft, the world's largest software company. Last year EDS announced
a new service to install and run large corporate networks based on the software giant's
high-end Windows NT system.
Under the leadership of Chairman and Chief Executive Dick
Brown, who was hired late last year, EDS has embarked on an aggressive effort to get big
new contracts this year .
