HYDERABAD: The second edition of the country's inter

corporate, team building televised competition — The Microsoft

Corporate
Challenge 2006 will be held from Aug 31st — Sept 3rd in the

backwaters of Kerala.

The challenge is in the form of a competition amongst the top 50 corporates of
the country in a non-linear race format. Spread across 3 days and nights, the

competition will consist of a mix of physical as well as mental challenges

whereby teams will have to run, row, cycle, decode, decipher, solve logical

problems and undertake light engineering tasks. The registrations for the

Microsoft Corporate Challenge 2006 are now open and team places will be

allocated on a first-come first—serve basis.

Speaking on Microsoft's association with the Corporate Challenge, Doug Hauger of
Microsoft said, “We are delighted to be associated with the second Microsoft

Corporate Challenge this year. With the overwhelming response last year, we are

certain that this year more companies will be vying to win it. Through the

Microsoft Corporate Challenge, we hope to demonstrate the fact that it is team

dynamics that lead to the success of every great organisation.”

The first edition of the Microsoft Corporate Challenge was held in Goa in 2005
and ICICI

Bank emerged winners with JM Morgan Stanley coming in second followed by The

Times of India in third.

This year, each team will consist of seven members out of which at least two
have to be women members and one has to be a part of the senior management of

the organisation. The format of the Microsoft Corporate Challenge is based on a

hugely successful international format where the lessons learnt and skills

acquired in the boardroom are put to the test in an outdoor environment. The

event has been conceptualised and is managed and produced by Sports Media

Limited and DNA Networks.

The Microsoft Corporate Challenge also supports Pratham, an organisation that
has been working with State governments for over a decade to make sure that

children have access to quality education. This year each participating team

will nominate one person as a Pratham Education Ambassador. Along with the other

Education Ambassadors they will unite to help raise resources to help with ASER

2006 (Annual Status of Education Report).
