Micromax unveils Canvas 4 at Rs 17,999

The wait is over. Indian cellphone giant Micromax has finally introduced much anticipated Canvas 4 Smartphone. Powered with 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and equipped with Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean), the new device is priced at Rs 17,999.

Micromax Canvas 4 has many innovative features that company claims to be industry firsts. Besides 13 MP rear camera and 5MP front camera, the Smartphone has 2000 mAh battery and 16GB NAND flash memory that can be expanded upto 32GB.

The Canvas 4, designed for multi-tasking, features blow to unlock, multi video view, look away to pause video, 4-way panorama, Opera Mini, Kingsoft Office and Hike app among others. It has 5-inch HD IPS full touch display.

Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma said that they were leveraging innovation to democratize technology so as to make affordable devices available for India's mass market. "With compact design and 8.9 mm thickness, it has full aluminum casing," Sharma said.

The company has also deployed M!Security that allows consumers a gamut of services such as back-up, anti-theft tracker and anti virus. With new device, the company is aiming at new milestone. Micromax has sold 60 million devices since its inception four years ago.
