Speaking on the need for organisations to prefer a managed service provider, Anindo Sengupta, Head Services – Marketing said,” A specialist managed assessment service provider helps address security needs on a regular basis in a cost-effective, efficient and optimal manner. Our program allows companies to focus on business needs without having to compromise on security. We have seen our existing clients benefit from increased security posture through significant decrease in network and application security attacks.” Anindo Sengupta also added, “Organisations have different needs based on the maturity of business and IT capabilities. Choosing the most suitable ITSM solution is a challenge. Improper solutions would result in undesirable results. Internal functions and processes need to be restructured based on ITIL best practices, to ensure the best results. Microland, being a specialist services provider, brings 19 years of experience to the table, and can help organizations align and achieve their IT service management goals and meet their business needs.”

Two major concerns for organizations in the current economy are security and quality of service. Security threats, day by day, are becoming more sophisticated in nature and the number of new threats is increasing at a pace, not being matched by the time taken to find a solution to them. Organisations find their IT infrastructure to be vulnerable on a 24x7 basis, putting the business at incalculable risk. Compliance with standards, such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA, FISMA, SOX & GLBA also is a major concern. There also exists the notion that security threats and attacks are completely unpredictable and that response to the same can only be reactive in nature. Microland is looking to dispel this notion with its new Managed Security Assessment Services offering.

Organisations are evolving from being technology-oriented to more customer-oriented and therefore service-oriented IT Management, which is often referred to as IT Service Management (ITSM), is important. One of the key goals of ITSM deployment is to meet both internal and external customer needs, hence resulting in improved delivery and management of services at lowered costs while not compromising on the quality of service. Aberdeen Research findings suggest that best-in-class organizations that develop strategic ITSM solutions, on average, realize 86% of goals, have 85% of IT services delivered on time, and experience 83% efficiency of IT processes.
