Micro Tech launches solution to counter cyber crime

NEW DELHI: Micro Technologies has launched a cyber activity remote monitoring solution. This downloadable software can be installed on a computer and the user is alerted every time any unauthorized person accesses the computer.

According to Micro Technologies CMD Dr. P Sekhar, this product is especially useful for parents who want to remotely monitor what their kids are using the computer for.

“Also cyber cafes and BPOs can use this to monitor the computers. In the BPO industry, clients can keep an eye on their employees in India remotely,” he added.

The software is priced at Rs 300 per annum and can be customized by the user. It sends email alerts and for critical applications it can also send SMS alerts to the user's cell phone. “The user has the capability of even switching off their computer if he/she feels that unauthorized access is taking place,” said Sekhar.

This is one of the 140 IT products that the company has in its name. Micro Technologies has ambitious growth plans. With full order book, the company expects to triple its revenue for the FY ending March 31, 2006 to Rs 72 crore from the FY revenue of Rs 27 crore.

“Going further, we expect to clock Rs 125 crore revenue by March 2007,” said Sekhar.

Micro Technologies currently employs around 400 people, including 300 developers. It plans to expand its developer base by 500 in the next 18 months. The company also plans to expand its presence in the Indian market.

Sekhar said, “We plan to set up a 5,000 strong dealer network, out of which we have already appointed 500. The rest of the dealers will be in place by end of 2006. We also plan to set up 300 service centers and 100 micro shops by the end of 2006. Out of these, we have already set up 75 service centers and eight micro shops.”
