MHA invites developers to build app for upcoming MySecurity web portal

NEW DELHI, INDIA: To combat the increasing rate of crimes and violence, the ministry of home affairs(MHA) is now weighing the possibilities of creating emergency assistance services with the help of Information and Communication Technology(ICT).

The ministry has plans to launch a web portal soon, where individuals will be able to access to a large number of security applications.

The MySecurity platform is being created for individuals, companies, students and NGOs to develop useful security applications for the citizens.

The upcoming portal, 'MySecurity.gov.in' will include a wide range of applications covering safety of women, children, senior citizens. The other priority areas are spreading awareness on good security practices and the legal provisions among people; facilitating easy reporting of cyber crimes, etc.

Application developers interested in deploying their application on this platform may write to uspr-mha@mha.gov.in.

Application developers will be allowed hardware and middleware resources to deploy their applications for an initial period of six months as per the protocol defined by MHA.

MHA has also set up an expert group to evaluate the applicationa on various parameters such as relevance, innovation, public acceptance, technology used, maintenance and updation, etc.

Applications recommended by the expert group will be deployed in MySecurity web portal and would be accessible to the public after the launch of the portal.
