mFormation buys Aepona unit

BANGALORE: mFormation Technologies Inc. has announced its acquisition of Aepona (England) Ltd, a supplier of mobile device management for over the air (OTA) settings and automatic device configuration.

Aepona (England) Ltd is a subsidiary company of Aepona Group Ltd, the Northern Ireland-headquartered Irish Software company.

“Today's announcement is great news for mFormation, its shareholders and customers. The deal will allow mFormation to extend its global lead in comprehensive MDM solutions by delivering real value to the network operator, enabling them to configure, deploy, support, secure, update, retire services to a variety of market segments including Consumer, Enterprise, SME and SoHo”, said Mark Edwards, chief executive officer and chairman of mFormation Technologies said on Thursday.

Together, mFormation and Aepona will deliver MDM solutions to over 20 independent Network Operators, such as Centennial, Meteor, RCC, Rogers, T-Mobile, Vodafone, Vodafone Japan and other Tier 1 Operators.

According to mFormation, the Aepona technology will enhance the already significant mFormation portfolio and complement the services that mFormation provides to its customers. This extensive portfolio will enable operators to offer a truly comprehensive MDM solution to their customers.

mFormation offers a comprehensive and fully integrated device management solution for network operators enabling them to more rapidly access mobile data revenue streams. Its solution addresses configuration, FOTA, feature upgrades, Smartphone management, diagnostics, enterprise management, security and customer experience management.
