Messaging app 'Peanut' now available in India

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Hitah Systems, which is an integrated communications and technology company headquartered in Chennai, today introduced privacy and security enhanced messaging application, Peanut, in India.

Developed by communications, technology and marketing company Loment, Peanut is a person-to-person (P2P) enhanced text messaging application that can be downloaded directly from the Hitah network or through a partner wireless carrier by the users of BlackBerry, Symbian, Android and J2ME devices.

At the launching ceremony, Loment executives said Peanut offers secure communications.

“Loment plans to launch Peanut solution in every region in the coming months and will build marketing and distribution network,” said Venkata Majeti, founder and CEO of Loment.

“We have properly designed the tool that resides inside the mobile device that can wipe out data and restore it to another device or network,” said Majeti.

The company has already launched it in Malaysia and is planning to unveil the app in Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and Sri Lanka in near future.

Malladi Satchidananda Murty, chairman of Hitah, said that Peanut can be a useful application for government, corporate and financial sectors.

“It has all the features in a single and convenient application, which is beneficial to any mobile user regardless of social or economic status,” he added.
