Merit launches latest version of GIFTfax

BANGALORE: Bangalore-based Merit Systems Pvt. Ltd. has announced the release

of a new version of its product GIFTfax that integrates popular messaging

systems with fax. It can extend the existing e-mail network, with all its

advantages to a fax network.

It has been developed by Merit Systems in response to customer demand for a

solution to integrate the existing e-mail network with a fax solution. It runs

on a Windows 95/98/NT system and interfaces with the e-mail system using a

mailbox configured for receiving all fax messages. Users can send messages

containing information of the fax numbers to the fax mailbox.

It is priced at Rs 16,000 for a 10-user version and Rs 48,000 for the

unlimited user version at a single location. The main features of GIFTfax

include auto copy of all outgoing and incoming faxes to a specified e-mail

address, automatic printing of all faxes, offline operation in the absence of

local mail server, multilevel permission for sending faxes and effective

communication that enables sending and receiving e-mail and fax using desktop.
